Berenford in Brief

Berenford is a Swiss-domiciled, Italian-made house of handmade limited-edition sunglasses. Each model is numbered, capped at one hundred pieces, and built around two materials: Mazzucchelli 1849 acetate from Castiglione Olona and OBE hand-riveted hinges from Ispringen, near Pforzheim. Together they carry more than a century and a half of unbroken European craft.

The Atelier

Thunderball Sagl, Berenford's parent atelier, is registered in Lugano, Switzerland. Production is in Italy. The frames are designed in collaboration with master craftsmen working in the old Mazzucchelli tradition.

The photography of the jet-set years, the silhouettes of the screen icons at Portofino, the cars at the Monaco Grand Prix, the slopes above the Engadine, the bush quiet of an East-African camp. The frames are designed not as accessories but as quiet props for a life lived at the highest level of refinement.
